It’s no surprise that as coaches we first have to learn the lessons that we teach our clients. And some lessons take an awfully long time for us to learn.
And the strangest thing happened. Instead of jumping up and down for joy I felt…anxious? Apprehensive? Maybe even dread! My friends and family couldn’t understand why I wasn’t more excited, and I couldn’t explain why I felt this way.
After a couple of months I decided it was time to turn my frown upside down. I turned to my trusty EFT/tapping to uncover what was really going on. I quickly realized that I was following the classic trap that Abraham Hicks talks about…
I had not completely stepped into the bigger, more expanded version of what I had become. In other words, my dream felt too big, which translated in me feeling the house was too big, too extravagant.
I was somehow not worthy of it and I felt more embarrassed by the grandness of it then ecstatic that we got what we wanted.
Guess what? That happens. We are human and sometimes we manifest something that feels even bigger than our original desires, which means we energetically (emotionally) withdraw. My message for you today is that it isn’t “bad” to withdraw, but it does not serve you to stay stuck in that place of withdrawal.
What area in your life do you feel you have withdrawn from your creations because it doesn’t feel comfortable?
How much is it impacting you? My guess is it’s more than you think. It certainly was for me.

Others simply think about that goal endlessly. The seemingly illogical truth of it is that most of us are really not motivated to simply make money. By that I mean, we do not want money to amass it. We are however, interested in making money because of what it means to us…more financial freedom so that we can live the big dreams we have for ourselves.
Money in and of itself holds very little intrinsic value to us, but once we start talking about what we want from that money we light up and our dreams come alive. So create something (for me it as small as a few magazine ads on my wall) that your heart desires and that you will accomplish by meeting your financial goals.
This allows us to tack on our good feelings and positive expectations on receiving money which, according to Abraham Hicks and others, is the most important ingredient to your successful creations. Abraham states that holding unadulterated positive feelings towards your creation for only 7 seconds starts the energetic process. Go ahead, find what makes your heart sing for joy. Post it somewhere prominent and notice the quality of your energy when you gaze on something you love instead of focusing on disempowering money failures. By doing so you will draw your goals closer to you.

The post What Color is Your Baggage first appeared on Oberfeld Coaching.]]>A conversation with a client inspired me to consider the baggage (limiting beliefs, unsupportive emotions, etc) I have been carrying around. The answer was clear. I have suddenly developed a “perfectionist” attitude towards my business…I have to find the right logo, the perfect picture, and on and on the list went. Worse yet, I find myself holding back on important next steps in my business. The cause of this is no doubt rooted in past events that created this belief that has developed into a coping mechanism. But all this resistance is creating a drag and keeping my parachute from fully unfurling.
My experiment for this week is simple, I have decided that instead of focusing on these perfectionistic thoughts, I am instead going to take action. Each time I feel that something is not good enough, I tap on those feelings and then set myself a target completion date and move forward. This may sound easy, but resistance has a way of thwarting us at every step and some days I need to tap for 15 minutes or more.
So I ask you, what does your baggage look like. Whether it’s a professional goal or a personal aspiration, spend some time today and ask yourself what you are willing to let go of. The more stubbornly we hold on, the more resistance we are creating in our own lives. I invite you to join me in this experiment and find one or two unsupportive beliefs that are holding you back and for this week commit to tap on the emotions and release them and yourself!
